Rachel Apodaca Accounting Manager

Rachel’s career in Finance started in Legal Accounting working for a mid-size firm, Cummins & White, in California, and then worldwide firm, Weil, Gotshal & Manges, in New York. Her time at these firms helped her expand her expertise in electronic billing procedures, foreign payables, and sales & use tax assessment.

After her tenure with law firms, Rachel followed her passion for analog photography and became the Accounting Manager for the USA division of The Impossible Project, a company later to be known as Polaroid Originals. Here, she handled full-process Accounts Payables/Receivables, implemented a new purchase order system for the USA camera inventory team, and focused on expanding into Financial Analysis and Reporting.

Most recently, Rachel spent three and a half years as the Finance and Operations Manager at Juniper Ridge, an Oakland-based essential oil and natural home and body fragrance company. Along with utilizing company-wide accounting and budgeting procedures that allowed for better visibility and more efficient growth, she was able to help the company’s Owner and CEO gain better control of their cash flow. As a true believer in the power of communication and organization, Rachel was happy to initiate project-management programs and on-boarded new applications to assist in bringing the company together as a more cohesive team.

In her free time, Rachel practices ballet and yoga, does embroidery and fiber art, engages in the local music scene, writes poetry, and hikes the beautiful coasts and mountains of California.
