John Glassford CFO

John Glassford joined Propeller in 2021 with over 30 years of finance experience in the CPG space with a focus on food & beverage and beauty. He has worked at a diverse set of companies from startups to large, well-known conglomerates, and understands what it takes to grow and maintain a business at both lifecycle stages. 

John joins Propeller with significant sales and operation experience. He started his career at Coca-Cola Bottling of NY where he learned the nuts and bolts of manufacturing and from there moved into corporate finance roles at Kraft, Bayer, and Danone. John joined a venture capital startup, Acirca, as the FP&A Director in the Walnut Acres division in 2000. Walnut Acres grew from $500K to $25M during his time there. John continued his FP&A role at L’Oreal and Elizabeth Arden, both very well-known cosmetic companies. Most recently, John worked for Sweet Loren’s, a fast-growing gluten-free cookie dough company, as the CFO. John has held a variety of financial leadership roles throughout this career. He has been involved in large SKU rationalizations, acquisitions, and due diligence, and has been hyper-focused on cash-constrained companies. 

John has a BS in Finance from Fairfield University where he previously served on the Board of Advisors for the Dolan School of Business. He also holds an MBA from Fordham University. He and his wife live in Connecticut where he enjoys running, playing pickleball, and is quite the history buff.
