Betsy brings her entrepreneurial spirit and 15+ years of small business accounting experience to Propeller. Ask her why she chose accounting as a career and she will tell you that accounting chose her. Wherever she worked, she always ended up with the responsibility for managing money. That includes being in charge of cash buying during two summers working the commercial salmon season in Alaska, co-owning a fast growing retail coffee business in Atlanta and managing the accounting processes for a specialty foods broker in San Francisco. She relies on her traits of patience and curiosity as well as her skills as a problem solver to help bring process and insight to financial operations. She thrives in a fast paced, collaborative environment and is excited to join her peers at Propeller as they help emerging companies build the financial foundations they need for success.
Betsy grew up in New York and Vermont, earned a BA in Political Science and Philosophy at the University of Vermont and attended law school at the University of Washington until being lured away by coffee business. She loves travel (especially if it involves seeing whales!), hiking, swimming, cooking and exploring her new found interest in classic jazz.
