Sam ‘fell down the rabbit hole’ when he started working with Solana Labs in 2019. As the lead of Propeller’s crypto/Web3 practice area, Sam provides strategic financial guidance to Propeller’s crypto and blockchain-related clients while also assisting them with the nuances of token accounting.
After starting his career in M&A investment banking, Sam worked at the modern furniture retailer Design Within Reach overseeing FP&A. Subsequently, Sam co-founded LivingPlug, a consumer hardware product. He served as Operations and Finance Lead, where he was instrumental in the company’s formation by spearheading its growth from concept to overseeing a Kickstarter campaign, from fundraising to launch, and from e-commerce to retail distribution.
Sam is inspired to work with smart and passionate colleagues while helping the team achieve its collective goals (both P&L and non-financial). To that end, he has always believed that the finance role should be a business partner as opposed to a scorekeeper.
Sam lives with his wife Christina in Sausalito and enjoys sailing and mountain biking.
