Michelle joins Propeller with nearly two decades of expertise focused in the consumer industries, including e-commerce, consumer electronics, CPG, and retail. Michelle also holds experience in the hospitality space. She is a solutions-focused leader, who adeptly responds to changing economic landscapes, and is an accessible go-to executive. As a big four turnaround CFO, she is known for driving strategy to create solvency and platforms for profitable growth.
Michelle started her career at Deloitte in the audit and advisory consumer practice, serving global to venture stage clients, largely in the retail and wine industries, before moving to Sony to head the finance and accounting function for the largest of Sony Electronic’s divisions, covering television and other home products. In this role, Michelle led the navigation of many new issues facing the industry as consumer electronics began to push updates electronically and trade performance became focal. Michelle also drove strategy around customer portfolio, marginal profit, and other initiatives, addressing changing market conditions, implementing new company-wide processes, and authoring numerous white papers. Since that time, Michelle has held executive and leadership roles in notable brands ranging from public to private equity to venture stage, including Annie’s, Bay Club Company, Tartine, and Coyuchi, focusing on business strategy, investor relations, restructuring cash and treasury management, diligence, M&A and systems integrations, inventory management, as well as owning additional functions such as human resources, technology, and operations.
Michelle holds a bachelors degree in Business from the University of San Francisco, a California CPA license, as well as membership at the AICPA and California Society of CPAs. Michelle has held numerous board chair, advisory, and member positions during the course of her career.
Michelle is a fifth-generation San Franciscan who enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
