Jesal comes to Propeller with more than a decade of experience in finance & operations across a wide range of industries. Prior to Propeller, he was the CFO at Temple Turmeric, a beverage startup where he split his time between finance and ops while wearing multiple other start-up hats. Under his leadership the firm grew from the East into national distribution, launched from natural into grocery & club channels, transitioned from manufacturing to multiple co-packers, and raised institutional funding.
Before that, he was an analyst at ConEdison where he provided research and due diligence support to the firm’s subsidiary that invested in solar infrastructure projects. Prior to ConEdison, he worked in various positions including a consulting firm providing financial advice to growth stage firms, an industrial manufacturing firm where he assisted in modeling a purchase transaction and in the special projects group of India’s largest multinational conglomerate.
Born and raised in Mumbai, Jesal holds an MBA in Finance & Economics from Pace University’s Lubin School of Business, dual degrees in Accounting from the University of Mumbai, and has passed all three exams of the CFA Program.
Outside of work, Jesal is an avid nature photographer, hiker & wilderness backpacker, and loves classical music. He has backpacked extensively in the Himalayas and is notorious for switching off his cell phone every weekend while hiking in the woods with his family or shuffling his two boys from one kiddie activity to the next.
